Telephony and SIP
Neuratel connects phone numbers to AI agents over SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). When a caller dials one of your numbers, the call arrives at Neuratel's SIP infrastructure, your agent is dispatched, and the conversation begins. This all happens automatically once your numbers are provisioned.
How Numbers Work
Neuratel provisions numbers for your account and handles all SIP routing internally. You do not configure SIP directly — you assign numbers to agents and Neuratel does the rest.
See Setting Up Phone Numbers for how to assign numbers to agents.
Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC)
Enterprise customers can use their own telephony carrier to route calls through Neuratel. This lets you:
- Keep existing numbers without porting
- Maintain your carrier relationships and negotiated rates
- Meet regulatory requirements that mandate specific carriers
BYOC configuration is handled entirely by the Neuratel team — there is no self-service setup. To request BYOC:
- Contact your account team or email [email protected]
- Provide your carrier account details
- The Neuratel team configures the SIP trunk connection
- Your numbers are imported and appear in your dashboard
Number Porting
To bring existing business numbers to Neuratel:
- Contact [email protected] with the numbers to port and your current carrier
- Complete the Letter of Authorization (LOA)
- The Neuratel team coordinates the transfer with your carrier
Most ports complete in 3–7 business days with no call downtime.
